Default Pen drive slow - Not a USB2.0 driver problem

Hello ppl,
I recently bought a kingston DataTraveller Pen drive 1GB, its preformatted to FAT format. I have Win XP SP2 so the device works in USB 2.0 mode....
But still to transfer files 600MB in size it takes time around 13-14 minutes.... Is this time okay ...?

Should I change the format to FAT32 also will this have any effect...? can NTFS(if that speed ups the data transfer) be used for Pen drives...?

what happened geeks I expected fast replies...
