Urgent!!!!- Forgot Boot password!!

My friend has forgotten the boot password on his hp desktop,,
we've tried takin out the Cmos battery but nothin is happenin.. plz help!!!!

^^ Now a days most BIOS are EEPROM so taking out battery will not work. There will be a 3 pin resert Jumper (two connected and one leftout )on the mother board for resetting BIOS. Just take out the jumper and connect it the other way round.This should fix the problem. as its a branded computer I think there will be no motherboard manual. Search for a 3 pin jumper on the board.Most probabaly it will be located near the battery.

^^yup it'll work that way. i've done it often. disconnect the pc, remove the battery, move the jumper cap to pins 2 and 3, leave it for about 20sec. after that, put the jumper cap back to pins 1and2, put in the cmos batt and power on ur sys. all bios settings get reset to default resetting the password
