Upgrade System Help Needed!!!!

pals...i need 2 upgrade my system,,,, so needed help....

1. which processor 2 go 4.....
x2 or c2d???
prices also.....
3800+ or e6300
and wots the price of 4800+ and e6400

2. mobo for either... amd aand intel...
no sli needed... which supports the above rpocesor good..

3. gfx card under 8ks.... for the above mobo....

It all depends on your budget... If that's flexible then u should go for an Intel based system... C2Ds are way better than X2s, especially when u take their overclocking ability into account...
Here are the approximate prices of the hardware you asked for:
C2D E6320 -- 7500
C2D E6420 -- 8500
X2 3800+ -- 3800
X2 4800+ -- 4800
XFX 650i Ultra (for Intel Proccys) -- 6000
Asus M2A-VM ( for AMD proccys) -- 4000

Also check out the C2D E4300... It costs about 4600 and performance is better than 3800+... In fact there is not much difference in performance between E4300 and E6300... And to top it off E4300 is a better overclocker... So do consider this proccy too... Read the reviews in tomshardware and anandtech.com to know more...

As far as Graphics card is concerned go for XFX 8600GT... It costs about 7K and is an excellent card for its price....

Get this .. E4300 + XFX 650i + XFX 8600 GT = 4.8+6+7 = 17.8 k The best VFM else u can wait for 22nd July for price drop

P5k costin bomb now do not get those .. Over priced... Btw get Kingston ram instead of Corsair.. Kingston has newer Elpida Chips rather than older Hynix on Value of COrsair

2 go in 4 amd 4800+
mobo:- asus M2N-E mobo
transient 2x1gb ddr2 667
and galaxy 8600gt 256 mb gfx

is it ok?????
and wot should b the ideal price of the above config????
also needed a decent cabinet and 5.1 speaker system???
which 1 should i go in for..and wot is the price???

a bit info needed,, i have 3 pata hdds on my present system... so can i use all of them on my new system or not????

I would suggest u to go for XFX instead of Galaxy... Even though chipset is same, XFX will surely perform better... Also u can be assured of a better quality product... It costs about 7K...

The prices for the rest of your hardware will be:
4800+ ---- 5.5K
M2N-E ---- 5.5K
2GB 667Mhz ---3500
Zebronics/IBall cabinet----1500

Since M2N-E has only one slot for a PATA device, you will not be able to use all your HDDs here... Although its got 6 SATA ports; which is a high-end feature right now....

^^Eh.. Galaxy 8600 GT rulezzzzz... XFX do not have HDMI so u'll be having problem using HD contents Do not go for AMD btw AMD got a price cut so people plz update urself before updating other Get Intel 4300 C2D 100 times better than any AMD

impossible.u can get only iball,novatech stuffs,u ll need min. 400 watt psu,zebronics being the cheapest amongst those three.single cabinet,a decent one ll be abt 1.8-2k.

u can get zebronics lava with 400watt psu @1.5K reference theitdepot.

U guys think of everything and never think of buying better cabby and PSU which are the main sole life of a CPU.. Invest in Branded CPu like COrsair,CoolerMAster, ANtec and Seven Team if you can else get at leat CM Extreme 600 watt for the sake of your system

invest some more money n get a better cabby as well as psu.as i hv told ny branded psu(Antec,Coolermaster,Zebronics) with min. 400-450 watt will exceed ur budget.

XFX 8600 GT (Standard Version, not the XXX one or Fatal1ty or something) should not cost more than 7.5 K.... I bought it more than a month back from bangalore @7K + VAT...

Moreover if u are going to spend that much for the CPU and Mobo, I suggest u take a look @ C2D6600 and XFX 650i Mobo... This is an awesome combo and its wayyyy better than AMD combo.... The mobo costs almost same as M2N-E so u dont have to spend anything substantial there... The proccy will cost 2K more but its worth it...

E6600 will out performe X2 6000 + with little OC !!! C2Ds are very very much over clockable...

E6600 retails right now around 10.5k + TAX i would say P5N-E SLi over that XFX 650i, but anyway, 650i SLi is at Rs. 6.5k + TAX in Kolkata Market !!!
