USB working at USB1.1 speed by any chance.......to check if your USB is working at USB 2.0 go to the "Device Manager" and expand the Universal Bus Controllers tree by clicking on the + sign. If you find "USB Enhanced Host Controller" written somewhere in the discription then your USB is configured correctly for USB 2.0 speeds, and the problem is elsewhere....... otherwise its simple that USB is not confiured at 2.0 and u need to update the drivers.

BTW XP SP2 has inbuit USB 2.0 drivers..........so start using SP2 if u r already not using it......hope this helps
