Re: querry on PSU
Just saw this thread: want to ask you geeks somethin'. Can today's 24-pin psu be used with an old mobo which needs a 20-pin connector? I need to change my psu: problem is, getting a 20-pin psu today is next to impossible. A fast reply will be very helpful.

Re: querry on PSU
yeah, it can be used, just forget the 4 pins.
The corsair 620W is much costlier than CM extreme power 600W, Foyr your rig, the CM 600W will be more than enough.

How?? The 24-pin connector cannot possibly fit in a 20-pin slot! Or do you say that the config is 20+4, where the extra 4 pins can be somehow ignored?

Yes, its 20+4. The extra 4 pins are usually detachable.

Re: querry on PSU
Even if the +4 pins are not detachable, you can just plug it in, so that the 4 pin part will jut out of the slot. Similarly, the 20 pin supply can generally be used with 24 pin mobos. I did so with my A8N-E and a good 20 pin PSU for months till I got an Antec 500W. At that time 24 pin PSUs were hard to get.
