Upgrade required
No budget as such. Am intending on ugrading just RAM, HDD.
Current Mboard is GA865GME-775

RAM:512 DDR 400Mhz
HDD: IDE 40GB
Processor: Celeron D 3.0Ghz with EM64T

Wanna make it a power house with Linux. Hopefully Open Suse 10.2
However, wont get much juice out of the system with the current config. It wont give me much performance or rather as much as I would like to have.
So I need to upgrade my ram and hdd.

160Gb HDD... SATA ... Guess d 865 suppoorts sata...

Yeah the 865 supports.Also, my complete problem is as follows.
I have 2 PC's. One is an HP PC without SATA support, 865 chipset mboard, CelD 32bit 2.16Ghz, with 256MB Ram.
Myy other PC is as mentioned above the 64bit CelD.
The question is, should I get a single 1GBstick of DDR or 2 512MB sticks and put the 3rd 512 onto the HP?
