Default ddr 1 ram problem


have an asus a8v-mx motherboard..i had a ddr400 ram (dynet) i just bought a new ram 1gb ddr400 (transcend) my comp doesnt go on with the other ram in..it doesnt give the motherbord beep only..iv tried the ram and the old ram together and only the new ram..no luck..the comp works fine with the old ram..any suggestions?

most probably the old ram is malfunctioning...........

did u try changing the slot in which u put the new ram?.......
if it works in other slot then ur mcb maybe bad.....

by the way how much did that transcend 1 gb stick cost to you?.......
im planning to get one now as my 256 mb is just not enough.......

First try with single ram ....and d/l CPU-z and mem test +.....use it and check teh reports..uisng CPU=z get latency of ur both ram..set ur mobo latency form BIOS to lowest of both ram..adn then try using both......

does the new single ram work..when installed without old ram? ????

no yaar the new single is also not working thats whats bothering me..i cant even test it..u know the motherboard isnt giving the series o beeps it gives if no ram is present but it isnt giving the single beep also of the comp booting..

btw i got it for 3000/- here in pune
