Default 5.1 sound for my pc

i did not consider buying an extra sound card while purchasing my pc because it came with onboard 5.1 sound......

what i have some to know is that there are different connectors in my computer.......

1.mic in/center and subwoofer out
2.line out/front left and right out
3.line in/rear left and right out

these jacks are the comon headphone type.......
my 5.1 speaker set has the RCA kind of connectors
what can i do to connect them to my pc?.........
i am sure we get adapters but i wanna know the product name and cost involved........

Do we get powered converters/recievers for joining non-powered speakers as well? what will be the cost of such products?....... where can i find one?

the whole appratus for connecting rca cables to your computer involves purchasing three sets of rca to 3.5 mm headphone jack converters which cost about rs 50-100.You would need to buy an amplifier to run non powered speakers or you can build one for yourself by referring
http://www.techlib.com/electronics/index.html although you may not be able to provide an enormous amount of power with these diy amplifiers.

If you have s/pdif on both ends, that would save a lot of hassels of connectors and seperate cables for all 6 channels.....S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) is a standard audio transfer file format. It allows the transfer of audio from one file to another without the conversion to and from an analog format plus sound for all channels can pass through one single cable.
The most common connector used with an S/PDIF interface is the RCA connector, or an optical cable can also be used.
