I've heard that Intel will cut down 60% price of Core 2 Duo after July 11. Is it true?

Yes. Intel is gonna cut the prices soon but not upto 60%. It is around 35% cut off.

Yes, there is a cut on Jully 22 and not 11. Major cuts are on Quad Core which would be now in Range of average users

yea intel is dropping the quad core prices on 22july,
also AMD on 9 july will reduce the prices of dual core processors athlon 64 X2 by 20% .
along with the quad core price drop in july , the Core 2 Duo price drop will be on 2nd september ,Its value will be from 24% to 32%.

Wrong, they are not fixed dates. Last time it was April 22, cuts were there 19th 
Its not only Quad core, Core 2uo is also there

but dont u guys think we've been stuck in this 3.x ghz speed band for a long time now? i mean when we compare the time gap between the release of 1ghz processor and 2ghz ones, this 3.x ghz band is not going any higher!. i think we've hit a critical prosessing speed for silicon processors!
