i wanted to know what is the Difference between Pentium D &
Pentium IV???

Which one is better than the other??

What are the advantages and Disadvantages of Each over the other..

Pentium 4 r single core proccys... Pentium Ds r dual core...
But rather get Core 2 duo processors... They r better performing than both and are more energy efficient... also if u hav a budget problem then get a amd athlon x2 proccy rather than p4s or pDs..

AS PER I THINK u should core for dual core and with a better motherbroad which suport c2d sso that after 5 year u can go for c2d and nthing else u will get a new computer

see pentium D's are nothing but dual coe P4's,
& the newer core2duo series are based on conroe core which are totally different from the prescott cores of Pentiums,

core2duo processors are more energy efficient than the earlier processors,
as per now they are the best processors in thye market,
but come 2008 the place will be taken by the AMD's new processor range known as barcelona,
thease are 33to 66% faster than the C2D's,

& AM2's are better than the Pentium D's than u are having,
sorry to say that but thats the truth,

I just test my friend computer and my computer, Friend PC is P4 3.0 GHz and my PC is Pentium D 2.8, the difference is P4 3.0 Ghz and PD 2.8 is that the p4 is ultra sonic speed than PD.

i m amazed to see that people are still going by the clock speeds,
thank god AMD isn't like intel showing the clock speeds
BTW intel also doesn't show of the clock speed now a days,

intel P4's nothing but crap
Eg.
AMD 939 3000+ running @ 1.8 Ghz beats the P4 3.0Ghz hands down,
(because of their Hyper transport technology)

so forget about those Ghz myths & be in the real world
