Also make sure that your graphics card is seated properly into the slot.It also gives a red display,if not properly seated.

Re: My Monitor Turned Red
This turning red,green,yellow,blue is not a new problem to me. Our old BPL TV lost one of its colours every summer. Each year during this time, one of its colours went for a holiday. And we had to replace a part worth 200 bucks.
I came to know that there is a device on the back of the CRT tube which connects to the elctron gun. Its job is to send the high voltage to the gun.
Due to this high voltage, it attracts moisture and gets rusted. And during summers the atmosphere is humid thereby creating a favourable condition to it.
I think this is the problem with you too. If you can open up your monitor, then clean the circuit board on the back of the tube with cotton dipped in spirit. Be cautious to leave the Monitor powered off for about half an hour before opening it. And then check if the problem persists. Or else take it to a repair centre.

most common prob is the cable.. u hav diff wires for diff colors(RGB).. may be the G or B broke internally.. so red all over..!!
it happ to mine.. i fixd it myself.!
ill give u the VGA pin out if i can find it.. it helps changin d cable..
but dnt do it if u dnt hav ne knowledge bout it..
n yea CRT MONITORS WILL HAV FLOWING CURRENT EVN AFTER ITS SWITCHED OFF.. THERE ARE CHANCES OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK...U WILL HAV TO DRAIN D CURRENT(U WUDNT HAV STUFF TO DO THT).. OR ELS LEAVE IT OFF FOR BOUT A COUPLE OF DAYS.

Re: My Monitor Turned Red
Samsumg guys came to my place a2days ago. They just soldered a few dried out points at the back of CRT...that's all
total charge 449/- only...
@shri..
degaussing will remove the magnet effect if the CRT was exposed to a small magnetic feild for shorter time only...
One of my friend had placed his 1000W PMPO spks near the CRT for almost 6 months..we had to call Samsung guys...
peace
