Default mic port not working

just got Intel GNT945 a month ago.
I plugged in headphone and mic cable..
Headphones work properly but attached mic isnt .
I checked headphones adn mic on frineds pc ,it worked properly.

Is der prob with hardware !!!

Hope ur using WINDOWS,

CHECK the sound manager, Check volume propreties...
