Default 1.44 Floppy Drive


There is a problem in the floppy drive, whenever I inserted floppy in the drive
the floppy is not explore instead it display msg as "THE DISK IS NOT FORMATED, DO YOU WANT TO FORMAT IT ?" On clicking yes it display msg "The disk cannot be formated.
When I right click on the drive and want to make a MS-DOS boot disk it display msg " There is I/O error".

I have check the drive with other system, where it works fine.
Can anybody give any solution for this problem.

Did u check insertin the same floppy in the same drive at the other place??

Can be a faulty cable or the FDD slot even wen the pins are bent... check'em out... N try another floppy drive of ur friend at ur place...

How many floppies have you tried to run in this drive. Try using a new floppy. It should work. To format floppies use any external tool like Maxformat(free trial for 15 days) as windows formatting tool hardly formats any floppy on which it shows that message
