Problem with Liteon & Samsung 20X DVDRW

Hi all..
I bought a liteon20x DVD Writer. I got a problem with it. I was trying to copy a file into my pc from a cd(got some scratches). The error came out that it couldnt copy from source. When I tried the same thing in Sony dvd rom of my friend, it was just copied. and everything went well. I couldnt do it with my drive. I got a boxed one and why is this happening? I thought that read speed of this drive was 52x. But to my disappointment, it is 48x. and then, Please could anyone tell me what could have happened? why is the file not able to copy from this new drive and I am able to copy with a sony DVD combo drive, My old Samsung DVD Combo, and Samsung CDRW drive. Do I have to replace my drive? Please help me out..

well may be it is a problem with the cable you are using.. try changing the cable and also check your power supply.. many times the wrong power supply gives this error.. and also try updating the firmware..

also change the cable for your HDD.. or just try tightening it..

i didnt wanted to start a new thread for my problem, so continued on the latest DVRW problem thread

i just bought a Samsung DVDrw drive.. TSST corp CDDVDW Sh-S203B 20X , the problem is that when a load a DVD into it and after some time i remove it, the contents of the DVD are still shown by windows, if i load another DVD then also the contents of the first DVD are shown and infact the files too run.. i dont know how ? but it does play movies or songs after removing the DVD ? can anyone help me sort this out... THIS is a SATA dvd rw...

Samsung optical drives are known to have door opening problems but this problem is quite unique I mean how can it play songs\movies after the disc has been removed?Have you tried using the DVDrw on another system?

Cant check it anywhere else, i dont have friends here , and my fathers system does not have a SATA port..
