Default A Decent Gaming PC for 30K

I'm getting a new gaming PC for 30K. This is the configuration:

Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz 1MB L2 cache
Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard with NVIDIA GeForce 6150 and nForce 430 Chipset
Kingston DDR 2 1 GB 667 Mhz X 2
Seagate 300GB - SATA Baracuda / Puma 7200r
Zebronics Lava Cabinet (With 400W SMPS)
Samsung DVD-Writer 18x, Dual Layer, 8.5GB
Creative SBS 370 2.1 Spkrs
Samsung CRT 17 '' Flat 798MB
Logitech Optical Mouse
Samsung Multimedia Keyboard

Will this work properly? Does the cost come around 30K (I'm in Chennai)? And can the configuration be improved in anyway without increasing the cost too much?

Thanks in advance and sorry for asking so many questions!

You can't call a PC a gaming PC without graphics card. Actually you can because its your mouth but a gaming PC needs graphics card to run recent (including 4 year old games) games with decent frame rate. No use of 2 GB ram without a graphics. Any game which needs 2GB RAM will need a high end graphics card. Better to get 1GB and a entry level graphics card. Also a 400W SMPS is wasted on a PC without graphics cards. You can select a cheap motherboard without onboard graphics, 1GB RAM instead of 2GB, get a cheaper hard disk to raise the money for a entry level graphics card.

Gawd!!!! Somebody gemme outta here.....

Dood weftr100( WT heck o a name!!!),

He's rite... U need a gfx card.... N why on earth do u need a 300GB drive??
If u're on a tight budjet, I suggest u go fer a 160Gb drive...

Athlon 64 X2 4200+ - Rs.5200
Asus M2NPV-VM- Rs.3600...

(Better still u can go with d mobo with d newer AMD690g chipset featurin HDMI.. It has d best bang fer d buck, has onboard gfx as well...)

Go fer a 8600GTS card wen d prices go down nex month... Until then be happy with the onboard gfx... If u can extend ur budget with an xtra 5k, A C2D E4300 + Asus P5N- E Sli will do... but tat doesn've onboard gfx, mind u...

Cheers...

Actually I was planning to get a graphics card later. A friend of mine suggested that I get a graphics card later when the prices drop and right now to settle for an on-board card. The 30K budget is exclusive of the graphics card. So is this OK?

ASUS M2AVM-HDMI Motherboard
Seagate Sata 2 200 GB

Why don't you go for 3600+. This one costs Rs.3000.
Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard with NVIDIA GeForce 6150 and nForce 430 Chipset
Kingston DDR 2 1 GB 667 Mhz X 2
Seagate 300GB - SATA Baracuda / Puma 7200r

Samsung DVD-Writer 18x, Dual Layer, 8.5GB
Creative SBS 370 2.1 Spkrs
Samsung CRT 17 '' Flat 798MB

Go for LCD 17" as there isn't much difference in price between 17" flat CRT and 17" LCD monitor.

Logitech Optical Mouse
Samsung Multimedia Keyboard

Don't go for Samsung M/M Keyboard. Get either microsoft m/m keyboard or for true gaming, go for TVSE Gold keyboard. The response time of TVSE gold is far far lower than most other keyboards (except the ultra high end).
