Default bsnl mt882 router problem with ethernet. URGENT!!!

i have a problem with bsnl mt882 adsl modem connected to my pc via a pci based INTEX (realtek rtl 8139d pci fast ethernet) adapter... i downloaded the drivers from and then installed them.

the problem i had was that the LAN led on the router couldnt become green (connected) .. it kept being orange and i kept getting messages that network cable is unplugged, then it would become green for one second and then go to orange again...

to fix this problem i had to set my lan card to 10 mbit full duplex instead of auto setting in device manager > realtek card > advanced....

and it started to work...

what i want to know is that , is it a problem with the lan card or with the dataone modem mt882. i really need it to work with 100 mbit mode because i cant set it to 10 mbit mode in linux, and so my net is not workin in linux .

i have conneted the router to lan card with cat 5 patch cable provided by bsnl.please tell y cant i use 100 mbit mode.. if it is problem with the modem then which settings do i need to change in admin page of the modem, i tried setting settings of router to default but to no avail..

HELPP!!!

AFAIK, The LAN Light on the Modem is either Red or Orange...

it is Red when a 100 MBPS link is detectedand Orange for a 10 MBPS link. So, for BSNL, it shud be Orange, (or is it the vice-versa)...

For internet connectivity, you need to check the ADSL Link status. The light shud be a steady green and the ADSL ACT Light would blink depending on the Traffic....
