the processor should be amd athlon64 x2 6000+ or intel C2D e6600 ..cost 12000

dont go for more than 2 gb ram..if u do then go for a 64 bit OS
for mobo go for gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 or GA-965P-DQ6 (intel) & if amd is ur choice then go for msi or asus or gigabyte mobo with nvidia 590 chipset..

E6600

4GB Kingston 667 should be near 40K.

Yes, you wont able to use 4GB properly using 32Bit OS

will he overclock the processor or not?

if he overclocks then he should go for intel & if he does not then go for amd...
but i would like to add that he should wait for a few months & let amd's phenom processors come out they r much better than C2D's

hey dude, where does theitwares have 4Gb ram for 15k, I took all the trouble to get 4Gb ram, all the way from US, costing more than 16k to get them here......

Just checked and theitwares has 2*512Mb 800Mhz Corsair XMS2 for 9500/- , going by that, 2Gb ram will cost 19000/- .

Here is a really got option If u want to get good ram, the price is really reasonable, 2Gb Corsair Dominator for 15500/-
http://www.theitdepot.com/product.ph...roduct_id=1517

If u don't have a problem with stuff from US, I got extra 4Gb 2x(2x1Gb) that I got for myself (never used, later I ordered 2x2Gb so that's no use to me now), will sell u the price I got it for, which is approximately half of what u pay in India, around 15k for 4Gb. You will also get warranty in India, as it is OCZ ram and I talked to their RMA people, and worldwide warranty is given.

And plese don't get cheap 667Mhz value stuff yaar, it's pointless if u're spending so much on mobo/processor, make it worth.... Get that Corsair Dominator...

So very true. Last week....OCZ 2x1GB was selling for 60$ after rebate. Order 2 for 120$ after rebate and it comes to Rs 5000. I am like WTF....India sucks when it comes to PC Prices

there is also another option here, if you get 2 GB 667 Mhz in india (easy to find) try to get WD Raptor 10000 RPM with Raid 0 confurgition combine with the ram it will give better perfomence than the 2 gb 1066 Mhz & WD raptor is also not hard to find.

also you can read this guide for making a very good gaming rig, hope it helps.

dude, forget about the rebates... those rebates are a way to fool people.... I never got a single rebate from anywhere.. only the local guys with a lot of time manage o get rebates...

I ordered ram from OCZ, (the ram I am talking about), and it also had rebate, but the rebate should be mailed within 10 days of order, how am I supposed to do that when I get the ram itself after 10 days.......

but still, the prices are good, $130-150 for 2Gb pair is good enough...

No-way dude...... the performance will not be near, firstly, the 667Mhz will not allow u to OC much, because DDR2 motherboards don't have downwards divider for memory... unlike the DDR1 where we used to keep the ram at lower speed, and increase the processor speed......

even if no overclocking, u really gotta be kidding if u believe that a raid '0' will outdo the advantage of 1066Mhz over 667Mhz.....

All it will do it reduce boot and loading times, HDD read speed is not the deciding factor in game frames per second, as compared to ram....

to be honest more ram never increses ( or faster) fps too much except for few games (BF 2, suprme commander) they actually make the game very smooth & reduce the load time , now finding a 800Mhz model in india with right price is very hard while Raptors cost are little higher (in india) , not outreagously like the 800 mhz counter part.

Unless he is going to buy the ram from U.S , he is better of getting 2 X WD raptors HDD

If you have a plan to install Vista then go for 4 GB (2x2GB) corsair DDR2 800 MHz.
Note: Two memory stics of 2gb each always perform better tha one single 4gb memory stic.
Take Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (first check price of that or get E6600).
Take Intel 975 XBX2 with gfx card atleast 256 MB.

I would say get DDR2-800

and put a RAID with normal Seagate HDD's

Here are the results of my RAID array, and the comparison to other HDD's, I have run RAID with DDR2-667, with DDR2-800, and non-raid with both, though raid doubles the HDD performance, it gives almost no boost in-game, all it does it decrease boot/loading times, and hang-ups are reduced when doing HDD intensive jobs...

http://forums.amd.com/forum/messagev...&keyword1=tach

and here's the ram I an talking about

http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...module_2gb_kit

it's two kits of (2x1Gb) I have, and can give away 1 kit(2Gb), or both(4b) of anyone wants...

Here is my suggestion

Processor: E6600 11k
Motherboard: ASUS P5B - Deluxe 11k
RAM: Three options
1) Corsair Dominator 2x1Gb DDR2-800 kit from www.itdepot.com for 15500/-
http://www.theitdepot.com/product.ph...roduct_id=1517

Total 37500/- spend rest on HDD

2) I already said, I've 4Gb DDR2-800 OCZ brand new, with lifetime warranty lying around for approx 15000/-
http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...module_2gb_kit
Total : 37000/-

3) I have no problem selling 2Gb dual channel pair OCZ DDR2-800, ram(above) for 7500/- .

Total: 29500/- make all the RAID aray in the world u want, u also have 2Gb DDR2-800, and RAID '0'

Anyone with any better optimizations.....???

My pics:

Processor:E6420 (4MB L2 cache 2.13Ghz 1066MHz FSB) Rs.8600

Motherboard:-
MSI P965 Platinum Rs.9700
or
MSI D975X Platinum V.2 Rs.11700

Ram :- 2Gb dual channel pair OCZ DDR2-800, above ram for 7500/ from Kniwor is a good deal, 4 GB ram is overkill anyway, unless you are working with 3Dmax or something like that.

HDD : 2 x WD Raptor 74 GB - 10k/- for each for the raid 0 confurgation

this is a very good confurgation, you can get the E6600 instead of E6420 if you want but try to get 2 X WD raptors

I am bit confused with pricing of Corsair/OCZ RAMs. Tirupati Enterprises is the only official distributor of Corsair RAMs in India and yesterday they were quoting Corsair Dominator (2 Gig) for 22,000/- + tax. This clearly means itdepot guys are directly importing these thru grey channel and which puts in the warranty issue provided by these guys. Frankly speaking Tirupati guys told me that apart from regular shops yantraonline.in was the only online retailer selling Corsair RAMs bought from them. I have checked and found the entire range of Corsair (and now even some OCZ memories) at this site and prices differ from both theitwares and itdepot. I have asked yantraonline guys ,thru mail, about high prices of OCZ memories and their response was that it is due to high duty and freight charges (official channel).
So is it advisable to get products thru grey market? (Prices are very tempting though)!!

yaar it's 15500/- for a 2Gb kit, it is 7k lower yaar, who cares about warranty.
OCZ gives international warranty anyhow, I already said that.

Boss, you are confusing yourself...15500/-is the price of Corsair memory and you are talking about OCZ's warranty...

Does Corsair provide international warranty too?

Those were two separate statements I made.
