Which motherboard sud i go for??
I hav a P4 2.66 64Bit with a VIA/SIS motherboard/Chipset...
Its not upto the mark and i want to change it...
can anyone plz help me selecting a good Mobo??

yups 865 mobo r still available in de market i wud suggest urself a 865GBF intel orginal or may b 865 chipset that shud b f9 wid ur proccy!

i'll suggest u to buya Intel 945 GCC original mobo for 3.7k or a 945 chipset based mobo then u'll be having a chance to upgrade to C2D later if u feel like.

i think u wanted to mean that his proccy is 478 pin one and not LGA 775.

if u dont plan to upgrade the PC in any time soon, then I would give u 2 options,
D102GGC (ATi Chip,  good onbaord GRFX) under 4k (if u find it)
D965RY (x3000 GMA supporting DX10 for Vista) under 5k

dealer says 3.5K. Is it ok.?? it is 1 year old...
I think i sud go for C2D kit...
i m going for Dual core 3.0 with 945 GCC original for 7.4K...
is it alrite??

Aviod 945 based boards, if u have budget problem then stick to D102GGC with Dual Core 3.0... other wise think of G965 based ones... !!!

Well If u like certainly buy a 945, its ur PC, but as u asked for suggestion therefore i suggested what i though should be better for ur 
anyway, why i say D102GGC !!
because the X200 ATi Chipset for D102GGC certainly better than 945/946 ones with with Dual Core Pentium D processor... !!

Where u live bro Come down to Chandigarh if you can....Intel 965RY sells for Rs 5200 here You should be able to find 965Ry at you place aswell

OK.. when u dont have any option then i guess u have to go for what available... now if ur budget is 8k, think of AMD X2 sulutions... Check some price from here, http://www.theitwares.com/motherboards/motherboards.htm
an AMD X2 4400 with may be Asus M2N MX should come under ur budget !!
(Note that Prices are in that web site is atleast 10 to 15 % higher than actaul Street Price in local area !!)

or otherwise go for nvidia based
