Question IDE to USB

I plan to convert my internal DVD writer to an external one to be used with my laptop. However I dont plan to buy a 5.25" external drive. Instead I plan to buy this. Can anyone specify where can I find one in Kolkata?

Also I have seen similar products which has both SATA/IDE connection options. Are these available here ?

And lastly, will the transfer speed of USB 2 be sufficient to burn DVDs ?
