^^ Your DVD-ROM is dead. Get a new one.
OR try cleaning the lens using a good lens cleaner (It wont help most probably). This has happened with me thrice so I know about this thingy

^^ The DVD-ROMs have a specific life cycle. For a CD-ROM 4 years of working are more than enough. Then after that the lens becomes weak and is not able to read the CDs.

@ritish: Cheaper option:: Go to any Hardwarewallah and ask him to repair your DVDrom. My LG CDriter stopped working last year and I asked my Father to get it repaired. It worked for few more months and now its dead again.
