The term "widescreen" is just a marketing gimmick.
There was a 19-inch widescreen review in last month's PC World. They covered monitors from Samsung, Asus, BenQ, Acer, Viewsonic, HP and Intex in their assessment. The good thing was that each and every one of them cost under 15,000 bucks.
The best two monitors were:
Samsung Syncmaster 940BW: 14,500 bucks
Asus VW192T: 13,500 bucks
Expect the prices to have gone down further as of now.
