Your monitor doesn't support more than 60Hz(1024X768 Resolution) refresh rate so u can't increase more than this.

you have 15 inch monitor, so you have to use 800x600 resolution to get higher refresh rates and it supports 85Mhz, you should using 1024x768, right?? here you can only get 60Mhz, not more than that......

Ur monitor will go out of sync (i.e. no display) if u force a refresh rate that either ur monitor or the graphics adapter doesn't support it ..

^ i'll say go ahead & try it. If you get the sync error i.e. blank screen, reboot into safe mode with VGA enabled ( F8 )
Try with smaller increments like 61Hz, 62 Hz...etc, and non standard resolutions like 1000x750. Use PowerStrip or RivaTuner (if you have an nVidia card) for non standard settings.
Using 6yr old Samsung 15" SAMTRON @ 1024x768, 71 Hz

yep the same.
google for a software called powerstrip. Use it to tweak your resolution, refresh rate and some clock speeds. (There is no easy way out. Read the help file.)
Tweak the vsync, hsync frequencies a notch at a time to a comfortable level till you dont get any glitches (eg, colored lines, wavy display etc.)
You can even backup the settings.
I do not recommend this to every1. I do this because i am using an old crt. It may shorten the life of your monitor ( Mine is still kicking for the last half decade). Also, you may have issues with some games with nonstandard resolution (my old graphic card runs a few old games fine @ 960x720, 72 Hz)
@techMasti: also use the buttons on your monitor to increase the size of the display. It make a gr8 difference if configured right.

i am talking of possible damage to the monitor due to overheating of circuitry. Just a disclaimer . Nothing happened to my system. But your graphic card should also support non standard resolutions.
