I have asrock 775dual915GL . i wud like to know if 8600GT will work on it . its got a agi express slot(pcie x4) . how much performance will i loose ?
Will this mobo support ms vista ? the mobo manufacturer says only 2.1 channel sound is supported in vista in this . well , how is that ? and any performance loss in games ?? i want know coz i have a 12k budget. I want to buy a g-card. shud i buy xfx 8600GT and psu and keep this mobo or switch to intel 915 mobo , buy 8500GT and psu . which wud be better . ( i have p4 3.0GHZ Ht proccy)
how much wud the intel 915 ( or some other vista supporting 915mobo ) cost ?

afaik ur mobo has a pcie 4x slot.. However u need a 16x to fully unleash ny dx10 gpu's potential.. Btw just wait 4 sometime.. 8600gt is a real bad performer.. Wait till ati releases its dx10 cards..

ok . i was waiting for that . but wats the use of my present mobo , if it doesnt support vista ? dx10 is for only vista , right ? so i wanted to know abt vista support for my mobo for sure ..how much is the intel 915 mobo costing ? how much is teh expected price of the ati models ? if they are all above 10 k , i dont think i shud wait...

initially they'll be above 10k,but slowly sub 10k models will be introduced.just buy a nvidia chipset based mobvo from Asus and save money for gfx card and buy it few months later.
