How to know if i have bad sectors or not in my hard disc........

install hd tune and scan ur hdd.

windows can detect too...

open up the command promt, type, chkdsk x: where x is the driver later the result will contain the amount of Bad sector your Partition has

^^^ but hd tune scans ur whole hdd in one go.

Hey thnxx choto and ass=a-sin.but when i tried chot's method it says

"Access denied as you don't have sufficient privileges.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode"

i'm in vista and admin too

dont install 3rd party softwares 4 such small things when u already have builtin windows utilities ........
