Dvd writer running too slow...

hello..

ive just bought a Lg dvd writer..
i donno...bt wenevr i insert ne cd or dvd in it...it runs too slw...getting my pc to hang...i want to knw the possible reasons for it...

if it is a hardware fault thn i ll get it replaced...

pls help me...

^ check for DMA enabled,in windows....there is a device manager window.check there for the dvd drive listed and enable dma.if enabled,then also slow,then try a replacement.

it is listed...bt hw do i chnge the status if the DMA...coz i donno wat exctly DMA is??

Enable DMA..

First right click ur my computer icon and go to properties.
Click on hardware tab and then on device manager.
There go to "ide controller".
In it cilick primary ide channel. Open its properties.
Go to advance settings. In tansfer mode select DMA if available.
Restart PC. Thats all.

If this problem persists try uninstalling cd driver for ur drive. Then reinstall it.

Does OEM ..sony DVD comes with drivers..If not then ..how to uninstall and then reinstall it ..???
