Default Some specific questions about buying Mp3 Player

Hello,

I have searched & gone through the numerous threads about mp3 players but yet i have a few specific questions, so opened this new thread.

I am willing to buy an Mp3 player within the range of 2.5 ~ 3.5k, I can go up to 5k if needed but don't want to go beyond that unless theres a much better one for few hundred rs more

After going through the threads it seems everyone recommending the Transcend T.Sonic 610.

I have a few queries:

1) I saw a new model Transcend T.Sonic 630 has been released, Would it be better than the 610 ? what kind of costs are associated with these two models(Preferably 2 GB) ? ( In other way is it better to stick to 610 if theres a considerable price hike for less features etc)

2) Does Transcend sell any Ac to USB Adaptor separately? (gotta be available in general market) || Is there anybypass/ quick way to safely charge that T610/630 mp3 players using AC outlet?

3) If anyone may recommend any other good/better options of mp3 players in that range?

4) If anyone may suggest any specific shop for buying in kolkata.

Please provide details as I would not be able to do much shop hopping

Thank you for your time

1) Check the product comparision on www.transcendusa.com to know more about the models T610 & T630
2) No, Transcend does not provide an AC Charger and does not reccomend it! But yes, in the Graymarket they are available but they many times cause harm to the player. My players firmware was completely destroyed and I had to flash it myself.
3) I would not reccomend any other player. The T610 has the best sound quality. Thats what you must be looking out for.....
4) Dont know about Kolkatta.

I beg to disagree.

I am in the lookout for a cheap but reliable MP3 player and that is why I have decided to go for T610 which offers an excellent price/performance ratio. While the sound quality in T610 is good with a better pair of earphones, yet it can't be compared to iRiver/Cowon models.I have heard each of these personally along with iPod and I rate iRiver as the best. However this is my personal opinion and no offence is meant to others.

~It_is_Andrew~ with a budget of 5k+ I think you should go for Cowon models. However I can't really help you with the exact price or the shop from where you can get it. Maybe other forum members can help in this matter.

I completely agree with that, iRiver and iPod both are miles ahead to any MP3 player in shear music sound quality, I vouch for the new iPod shuffle 1 GB model. Apart form the sound quality which obviously is the best, it also wins hands down in visual appearence, its the smallest player existing, not bigger that a small match box. Looks amazing. I'd say if you are spending 3.5 K you might as well add 2K more and get the best, its a life long thing anyway why compromise...........

BTW I have a Video iPod 30 GB as well .....simply rocks...

The size of iPod shuffle makes it an attractive choice

However for people who need to see the songs this is a strictly no-no

Thanx everyone for replying

I will also like the fm so apart from T610 is there any other low/middle range good option?
(Transcend t.sonic 610 can be used as pen drive with no problems right?)

could anyone indicate current prices?

anyone used the 630 or the520 model? (how is the 520?)
the Transcend t.sonic 520 models seems to have more features than 610 one! but noone suggested it, is it not good or some other issues?

Please reply
