I need a portable storage media for my "Toshiba Tecra M4" laptop. Actually I want to take a backup of all my stuffs stored in the laptop, so I need a device for storing this backup. My system assembler suggested me to purchase a laptop HDD with USB casing.
Should I go for it? or any other suggestions? and what will be the cost of it?
Re: SUGGESTIONS: Backup Device Required for Laptop
There is another suggestion.
Buy a PC HDD (80 GB IDE - I prefer Seagate)
Then buy a IDE 2 USB 2.0 Converter which comes along with Power Adapter
Backup and enjoy

But remember this option will eliminate the portibility aspect.

Hardly 300-400. I have it, but as I said its not a portable backup solution. You need to carry the IDE to USE cable, the power coard plus the adapter and ofcourse the HDD itself(which anyway is much bigger and bulky than the notebook USB HDD), so it lacks the portibility aspect. In that regard the laptop HDD with USB casing is a better option..........
Cost wise the former one becomes less expensive ofcourse........rest up to you to decide......
