Default A New Desktop

i Am An Engineering Student And Wants To Buy A New Desktop. My Requirements Are Minimum 512 Mb Ram,120 Gb Hard Disk, intel Core2duo Processor,15 Inchtft/lcd.please Suggest Some Models.one Thing I Would Like To Mention Is That I Do Not Want The Assembled Desktop. I Do Not Want The Dell Also Because I Feel That Their Method Of Selling Is Not Secure And Dell's Parts Are Hardly Replacable. My Budget Is 30000 To 35000 Rupees.

You can check out Zenith Desktop PC. Must be in that range. Otherwise i suggest you should get a Desktop PC since then you will get 1GB RAm since future OS would be Vista and perfomance lags on 512MB PC

Not sure why you dont want Dell, because from what I have seen, Dell has the most configurable computers... In Compaq, IBM, etc, the components for various models are usually fixed and you have only few items that are configurable, but in Dell there is usually much more flexibility...

Since I have not used it, I cannot comment on the parts replacability or the security of the sales, perhaps some Dell customer here can give their experience...

Any way, I checked out their website and found Dell Dimension(TM) E520 Core(TM)2 Duo Processor Desktop with C2D E6300, 512MB RAM, 160 GB SATA 2 HDD, 16X DVD Writer, 15" LCD, and Vista Home Basic for 37.5 K after a cash rebate of 7000...

Personally, I would recommend AMD X2 series instead of C2D because they offer better price-performance ratio for lower budgets such as yours...
