Default SONY Vs. APPLE

Hi friends....
I am looking for new portable Mp3 player around 5K.
I confused between SONY Network walkman & Apple 512MB ipod shuffle.

> As you all know Apple is most populer brand in this segment.

> Sony has LCD screen & it also support ACRTC3 format. I red in one magazine that Sony's ACRTC3 format gives better quality than MP3 at same sampling level.

So for what i should go?

The 512MB shuffle is outdated now. the new one is really really small (1GB) and looks really cool. Display is not important in a small device as there is no 'playlist' to scroll. Just one track and a time and you would obviously know which track it is. www.apple.com/ipod

But then I don't know which sony you are talking about...

The current-gen iPod Shuffle only comes in a 1GB version, and holds about 240 songs (check www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/specs.html for detailed tech specs). Apple used to have 512MB shuffles, but for some reasons, it's now only in 1GB version. "In five brilliant colors and just $79, the 1GB iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs1 on your sleeve. Or your lapel. Or your belt. Clip on iPod shuffle and wear it as a badge of musical devotion.", says the site at http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/

I don't know about the Sony player's detail but from my experience, Sony players have better sound quality. The Sony player's also got a LCD screen.

But all in all, the Shuffle is a lot cooler, you can wear it, weights around only 15 grams, and is one of the smallest portable media players available.

Go for iPod if you want style and simplicity. Go for the Sony's player if you want a better value for money.
