I am planning to buy this as a cheap Comp basically to run Photoshop and graphic applications - Mobo - msi rs 482 ild & CPU AMD 3500+ with my older ATA HDD and 1GB DRR1 Ram
would it serve the purpose?

That wud be good enuf for Photoshop and most graphic apps I guess...

But AMD 3500+ is compatible with only DDR2 RAM AFAIK.

I recommend changing the HDD though.

the older 939 socket proccy supports only DDR. Its todays 3500+ [AM2] that supports only DDr2.

If u are going for that config, then this wud be better
Asus M2N MX: 4k
AMD X2 3600+ : 5k
1GB DDR2 in dual ch:4.5k

yes its good very fine,, for basic phtoshop and graphic applications
