Question memory controller probe??


memory controller probe??

im using athlon 64 3000+ (939)
gigabyte geforce 6150/nforce430 mobo

there is problem with my memory modules

im having 1. kingston 256mb ddr400 3-3-3-8

2. kingston 256mb ddr400 3-3-3-8
exactly same modules

3.transcend 512mb ddr400 2.5-3-3-8

4.oem samsung 128mb ddr266 2-3-3-7
3.& 4. i got from my old p4 845

problem is 1. when i use 2 X kingston 256mb ddr400 3-3-3-8 memory controller runs at 512mb dual channel 128 bit 3-3-3-8 at 400mhz

2. when i use 2 X kingston 256mb ddr400 3-3-3-8 & transcend 512mb ddr400 2.5-3-3-8 memory controller runs at 1024mb single channel 64 bit 2.5-3-3-8 at 333 mhz

3. when i use 2 X kingston 256mb ddr400 3-3-3-8 & transcend 512mb ddr400 2.5-3-3-8 & samsung 128mb ddr266 2-3-3-7 memory controller runs at 1152mb single channel 64 bit 2.5-3-3-8 at 266 mhz


which one of the above combinations do you folks think gives best performance

512mb dual channel at 400mhz
1024mb single channel at 333 mhz
1152mb single channel at 266 mhz

idont game a lot

2. when i use 2 X kingston 256mb ddr400 3-3-3-8 & transcend 512mb ddr400 2.5-3-3-8 memory controller runs at 1024mb single channel 64 bit 2.5-3-3-8 at 333 mhz-----> perfectly correct,nothing wrong in it.Dual Channel needs 2 identical Memory modules.you are using 3 modules,hence it run in Single Channel mode.

Best configuration for you is,
512mb dual channel at 400mhz
