Is this temperature OK?

I've got this strange stuff and I think it should not happen. Please check my signature for the configuration of my system. I'm running an application which involves a lot of number crunching and utilizes a lot of CPU overhead. While using this application, I observed that the temperature goes as high as 66C. So, I've to stop using the application in the middle of what its doing. By default, the temperature hovers around 52C. Is there something wrong or is it ok for my configuration? I've got 2 cooling fans. Please help me out guys.

like games use up most of the resources and the temp increases sometimes

Can't tell the application name, it would violate forum rules Yeah, few games make it go around 58. If my fan is whining while playing, I immediately shut down my system to cool down. So, how do I control the temperature?

You may need a good heasink fan so u can game cooler than with ur stock fan.

remove ur heatsink,clean heatsink,apply thermal paste and fix heatsink.

are u on some serious password hacking or somethin that uve so much number crunching? If speed is not an isuue for the apps then set lower CPU priority for the app in Task Manager.
If u wanna bring down the temp in the costly way, then first u shud add some fans in ur cabby[ the cheap 80mm 50bucks one wud do]. Or try a good thermal paste like Arctic Silver and apply on ur CPU.

Yeah, lot of number crunching I already have added fans and I don't have anymore space in my cabinet. How much will Arctic Silver cost? Can I apply it myself or should a professional do it? I've removed heatsinks before, but not my computer's.

Arctic Silver wud cost u somewhat b/w 300 to 400. But its hard to get unless ur in some big cities like Bombay or so.

U dun need an xpert to do it. Just remove the heatsink by pulling the lock. Wipe out the present paste and clean it with alcohol dipped cloth. Dun make any scratch on the soft alluminium foil underneath the heatsink coz it has to touch the CPU evenly. Apply AS both on CPU nd heatsink. Dun make a very thick coating as when heatsink is pressed on CPU, the paste wud go off to sides. Set some 1000% CPU usage for some 2~3 hours for the pasate to start its working. Ur CPU temps wud come down somewhat 5~7c.
And also add some 80mm fans on cabby too.

My computer frequently shuts down and restarts again. In fraustration I gave it a blow in such a way that the lingering time is extended a bit.. What can be the possible reason.

@aravind-I'm in Bangalore and I hope that I should be able to get it. Are there any ways to find if they are selling me the genuine stuff? I usually buy computer components at SP road. Hmmmmm...... rep system finally disabled. Thanks for the valuable info dude

Cleaning the Heatsink and reapplication of Thermal paste is a good thing to do.In addition to that having good airflow inside the cabinet helps.
A64 is known to run pretty cool,there is no necessity for AS5 ,if you use it,excellent but its not mandatory.

Also since you are using that MSI board, which are known to have non working or weird sensors.Use Coretemp utility to keep a check on temperatures.

Alwas remember to keep the insides of your cabinet clean and keep cable management as tidy as possible,it helps in perfect air flow
