Default Front USB Probs

My Config is AMD Athlon64 3200+ on a MSI RS480 M2IL Mobo, 1 Seagate 80GB SATA HDD, 1 Seagate 320GB SATA HDD, 1 GB DDR RAM, LG DVD Writer, Antec Cabinet with Antec 400W SMPS.. My Cabinet has 2 Front USB Ports..

The Problem that I hav been experiencing for past couple of months is that my front USBs r extremely slow when it comes to data transfer to an USB Mass Storage Device (a.k.a Pen Drive).. This is irrespective of the usb device.. In other words, this problem occurs for any usb drive that i plug-in.. I hav tried around 10 of them.. All r ridiculously slow.. This occurs in both Windows XP and Vista.. I do not hav any such probs with the back usb ports (mobo ports)..

To add to this (when device is plugged to front usb ports), the data transfer fails on many ocassions.. I get an error msg stating "Device I/O Error".. This occurs in both Windows XP and Vista.. Can anybody suggest a solution??

the prob cud be either with the usb header on the mobo or with the wire connecting the front usb ports with the header on the mobo.change the front usb ports and try.also connect the front usb to a diff usb header on the mobo if available.

Could you tell the way the 'front' USBs are connected.

Is it 2 usb output sockets connected collectively to one USB header on the motherboard...?
