urgent--- mobo base not there

i had sent my mobo back to intel as it was booting up n was under warranty. I know that we have to send only the mobo to intel & not other spare parts. My tech told me that the 'base' of the motherboard which is used to attach the fan is to be sent with the mobo & he is sure about it as he sends pcs back to intel on a regular basis. I did that & now intel is refusing to send it back to me. From where can I get a new one?? I am really desperate for my pc havent used it since like a month.

it is the 'base' of the motherboard which is used to attach the fan.. i guess mayb its called the cpu retention, just tell me if i can use any mobos base on mine?
my mobo is intel865 GBF & cpu is 2.8 GHZ HT
