Unhappy power calibration error.....in cd drive


hi i m not able to write cds on my drive ......all of them are failing by giving an error of power calibration ....this error has started coming from yesterday only...is it the problem with the drive...please help me in solving my problem.......thanks in advance

FEW OF SOLUTIONS ARE:-
Try another brand of media.
Update the firmware of your recorder.
Check your power connectors
Try different configurations(primary to secondary bus)
Clean or have your ROM DRIVE serviced
REPLACE ur ROM ...

Try writing at a lower speed like..........8x-16x and see. I had an Samsung CD-RW, it also had this same problem.

Samsung CD-RW, I had one too, some 252F or something, it hardly lasted a month.

Its most likely your drive is dying, lest you burn only at 4x-8x, 16x is fault prone too. Dump it and get a better drive than waste more on media.

damn it
throw that fuc#### drive away
i too had samsung sw252f
it also gave me same power calibration error
i couldnt find a fix so i stopped burning from it

i got a liteon 5236v combo for 1100 bucks & it rocks
it burns flawlessly even at 52x get it now if you are a serious burner

Type Services.msc at Start->Run
Search for and double click on the IMAPI Cd burning COM Service. Change its startup type to Disabled.
Restart the computer and try writing again
