15' monitor lcd.plz help!!

can anyone plz tell me the rates of 15" lg/samsung/sony monitors
i live in ranchi so i would prefer rates of eastern region like kolkata
the dealer says 9800 for sony & 8700 for other 2 is it the right price?

if i buy should i buy the samsung as in the last review of april 2006
it was the best & it consumed the least power
sony was not reviewed
or should i wait as lcd reviews maybe comin soon (does anyone know which month).
how much streakin & ghostin will i see in games like war rock(fps)
& nfs underground 2 compared to my 17' philips crt monitor??
i use a 500 va external ups it is not able to take the crts load
so im shiftin to lcd . it should be able to take the lcd's load.right???
there r many questions if u'll could answer it fast then i would go & buy the monitor today.

If the rates r inclusive of taxes den its alright.Dont go 4 Sony.The after sales service is poor.U may buy either LG or Samsung.i'm using a 17'LG L1752S lcd monitor.i've played NFS Carbon,UG2 Splinter Cell Double Agent etc and didnt notice any treaking and ghosting.Color reproduction is good.
As far as 15"is concerned my friend has a LG L1515S and its pic quality is good too.No ghosting or streaking.
Ur 500va ups will handle the load.even i've a 500va APC ups.

i dont know abt ranchi but a 17" samsung lcd 740N costs around 10, 300 in mumbai

The rates in Kolkata (kniwor gave rates from kol) r always a bit less dan elsewhere (Ranchi ).at my place ( durgapur ) rates 4 15" is bout 8.3-8.5k all incl.
talk to ur dealer he may reduce the rates by bout 200-300 max.

people here's the complete deal
my old philips (107c6) 17" crt monitor he is willing to exchange for the new lcd.he says he'll pay me 4700 .is it the right price?cuz other were offering me a much lower price for the crt.
so the cost is 8700 .
i will have to pay 4000. deal seems ok to me but....
ssdivisiongermany1933 posted the prices of lcds in the LATEST HARDWARE PRICES & QUOTES..!! & the price is 8200
so what should i do?? should i

1)take the exchange offer & pay 4000
or
2)should i try & bargain again??

ps-the dealer says somethin abt a sudden price increase of 500 cuz of education cess & what not ..... he's lying right?

4.7k for a 2nd hand 17" CRT ????????
just dont think bout anything and xchange ur crt with a new TFT.ur getting a lot 4 ur crt.i sold mine 4 2.5k.
the quoted price of 8.2k is without tax i think.
the govt has levied 1% educational cess and prices r bound to increase cuz of that stupid cess.

my dealer must be plannin of repacking it & selling it as new
crt rates r around 6k
i dont know.... whatever he he wants to do he can do

If you are getting Samsung 17" LCD then don't buy 740N, instead try getting 740B as it has both analog and digital (DVI) input. Price is same as 740N.

im goin for samsung 540n ( native resolution 1024 X 768 )
i have an old graphics card so i play most of my games at 800 X 600 resolution
it is not the native resolution of the monitor so will their be a noticeable decrease in performance of the monitor at lower resolution??

^^ no there wont be any noticeable dec in performance,but its better to run at native resolution for best viewing xperience.

@samrulez : sorry dude i just didnt notice the first post.
as far as the price of 9.8k for 15"SONY TFT is concerned,the price is more or less correct,cuz sony sells it products at a premium price.

Digit April 2006 review is very old. A 15" TFT should be always less than 8000.
Should go for viewsonic, if you can get hold of them in Kolkatta

^^^ 15" TFTs available for sub 8k in Kolkata,but at other places prices increase due to cost of transportation.
Viewsonic is available in Kolkata,but the prob is it doesnt hav a service center in or around Kolkata.

Don't need a service center. Their all india toll free number will do. Viewsonic comes with onsite warranty. Nearest to your location will attend you. You can ncheck these things with the local dealer there, though they will be intrested to sell of samsung & LGs due to bigger margin for dealers.
