I want to configer a notebook tell me some companies who allow me to do this and i want to know the price too for the configured thing

2gb ram, 256 mb graphics card, core 2 duo processor
just no OS
no budget all top end
120/160 gb hdd
bluetooth not must
preferable 15" screen
graphics prefered NVidia XFX
DVD writer is standerd
good speakers is an add on but not must
also screen must support high resolutions and prefered good battery backup

Compaq range of Laptops from HP dont come with OS, but they also dont offer Customization.

Configuring, I think only dell allows, but they are byforce bundling Windows vista Basic and charging for that, which increases lappy cost. As far as I am concerned, Dell is out of question for me for this very reason.

I want lappy without OS or with Linux, and would look towards AMD X2 based instead of Core 2 Duo, simply because I don't plan to add graphic cards to lappy. For Intel GMA 950 is not good enough, and that is the reason for AMD, because it has eiother Nvidia or ATI onboard graphics, which are far superior than Intel's

Lappy can never be a replacement for Desktop, keeping those things in mind you should decide and invest more on items like Graphic cards in Desktop rather than in lappy. Got enough funds, then no worry, you can do anything.
