Question internal+USB


is it possible to use an internal dvd writer as an usb writer by using USB HDD case ?

i have 2 writers ( sony & lite-on) , 2 sata HDD ( samsung 80gb 7 WD 250 gb)
one IDE HDD ( seagate 40 gb ) ! My mobo has only one IDE port , alrady occupied by liteon writer & seagate HDD.

Which mobo have you got, If its like a 845, 850 series you should be having two IDE cables to connect any 4 peripherals in any combinations.

Or else you can use IDE to USB converter to connect your IDE HDD externally.

mmmmm is there a need to connect two writers? or you can probably try that IDE to USB connection with a writer, see if that works. It works with IDE HDD well that I know.

Of course it is. U can go for an IDE to USB converter for around 350 bucks or else invest in an external casing for around 800 bucks.
