Angry My new system doesnot boot from DVD disk?? please help me out


Just a month back i bought an new PC my config is

Intel DG965RY mobo
Intel core2 duo E6300
160 GB SATA seagate
Sony DVD Rewriter
1 GB DDR2 533 MHz x2 running in dual channel


I Purchased windows vista ULTIMATE DVD and I tried to boot from the DVD to install fresh OS, but my system doesnot boot from That dvd it simply restarts normally,, i have set boot device priority 1st boot to DVD RW and second to HD,, however my XP cd boots fine,,, The vista DVD runs from windows environment

I checked vista DVD in my friends PC it boots fine

I made my XP cd iso, and then burnt to DVD and tried to boot that, again it doesnt boot,, [this dvd booted in my friends pc]

My sytem boots from CD normally
but my sytem doesnot boot from any dvd

Wats wrong with my system?/ where does the real problem lies???

My vendor doesnt know anything abt it???

I have updated the bios version to latest 17th jan but the problem didnt solved

Guys i am really Afraid
will my problem be solved??,, this really cracking my head

Please Help me guys,

before suggesting anything I will ask u to:
Take out ur DVD drive and install it on ur friend PC...than post the result here.We will definetly help u,but first do this.

@yesh1683
keep pressing F8 key during post ckeck screen(not during OS selection) nd u will be prompted to select the boot device like CD ROM, DVD, HDD, lagacy lan etc...most mobos would boot from DVD only in this manner.


Is it Vista DVD?

I was not able to remove my drive myself so i took the system to my vendors shop and there he removed my drive and installed another dvd rom and it booted fine

so my problem was with my dvd writer
Oh!! atleast i can breath easy now

I have asked for replacement, my vendor told that he will give another one within 2 days

Is it Vista DVD?

That method didnt work on my PC,, I saw that option on my friends asus board & that feature is quite useful

AND yes its VISTA ULTIMATE DVD
