Although 6600GT is considered to be better I'd go for 7300GT for 3 reasons
1. Relatively newer platform compared to 6600GT
2. Cheaper
3. The performance difference is very minimal.

I guess 6600GT and 7600GS cost almost the same then you can have a look at 7600GS too.

Yes, stretch ur budget a lil bit nd get the 7600GS for 6800/-
7300GT can't keepup at high resolutions, but at med res its quite good.

A 7600GS has much higher vertex nd pixel shader units than 7300GT, so can handle heavy effects more easily than a 7300GT. A 7600GS has the same core as 7600GT(560/1400 Mhz) but clocked at 400/800Mhz.
perfomance wise
7600GS>6600GT>7300GT.
So get a 7600GS model with a good heatsink nd a fan for further overclocking in future.
