if you have a latest M/B & a onboard Audio card, then you need Windows XP - SP2 for installing the drivers.

it happened to me, i could'nt install the Audio Drivers in my Intel DG965WH m/b, as i had Windows XP Pro (non SP2), but when i installed Service Pack 2, the Drivers got installed without a hitch & then enjoyed the awesome Dolby DTS 7.1 Channel Experience
