Default Want a UPS or device that can do this....pls help

sorry that the intro is kinda lengthy but its reqd...

I have an internet connections and a cable connection from the same guy - my local cablewala...his product is good and all but it has so happened (about 4 years ago) that during the monsoon, all of his internet wires got 'flodded' and took out all the network cards of his customers.

My current mobo has the network card buit-in (duh!). Also i wanna buy a TV tuner card for which i'll have to hook the cable wire to the PC too...obviously i have concerns!!

My current UPS has the facility to have the telephone connection plugged into it so that voltage fluctuations in the phone line do not affect my HP 5610 all-in-one.

I wanna know if there is a UPS out there that does the same for network as well as cable connections; or if there is another device that can achieve this. I searched but couldn't find anything...maybe i m not using the right keywords....pls help!

I think few models from APC have RJ45 posts for surge protection but I don't know about cable

APC Back-UPS RS 800 [800 VA UPS from APC] does have protections for phone LAN & VOIP Lines. It is great. Though, I don't think it has protection for cable.

Go for external TV tuner and rest everything will be connected through UPS. Hence you will be protected. This UPS also has hibernation fuction, which is very handy to hibernate your PC even after you drain complete battery backup. On resumption of external power your work which was half way will be restored too.

It will resume everything except rapidshare downloads. This UPS will cost you arround Rs 5000+

Hope your existing UPS has protection for other LAN & Phone line protections.
As all other components are covered by UPS other than cable and thus suggested you external TV tuner provided you do not want to record TV programs.

Buy a TV tuner, which is compatible with TFT monitors and DVI interface, if you want to upgrade in future to TFTs
