burning issues

After burning DVD, i am unable to see content in the disc. But can see the content in other drive. writer is liteon 16x super all write. media is moserbaer.

Can you read some other dvd with the burner?
Maybe the reading function of your DVD burner is gone and the writing part is still there. Different power lasers are used for reading/writing.

dvd's are working fine now but it is not reading cd's. model number is Liteon LH-16a1p. Unable to find firmware on the web. even liteon didn't provide that.

Try a different DVD. Get a mixture of cheap/expensive DVDs and check em out. My writer couldn't write to MoserBaer, I got it replaced though...

how much time will it take to replace a writer?

Since mine was under warranty (still is and will be for another two and half years), i just called up my guy and he got a replacement piece...

Not sure how good your side of the world is with replacements n all...though you should be having 1 year warranty..

Who did you buy it from? Ask your local PC walla to take care of it. No need to go to Lite-on directly. Of course, if you have bought it from abroad, you are 5kr3M3D (Screwed)...
