Default How to find out RAM brand


I have 1 GB of DDR RAM in my machine...is there a way to fond out the specs and/or manufacturer-model of the RAM without opening the machine....i need to know cause i wanna add another 1 GB to it and want it to be of the same manufacturer....

@ all...one is an A-Data 512MB PC3200, and the other one is a Hyndai 512MB PC3200...guess i am not dependant on the manufacturer anymore....which company is the better one though??...which other company's RAM is worth investing in?...don't tell me kingston cause my pockets ain't that deep!

Kingston and Transcend r best brands. But as u said already u don't want such costly RAM, then u should go for hynix.

Easiest way is SPD tab of cpu-z... looks something like this


If you want cheap decent ram, look for Twinmos/Transcend with Samsung UCCC chips.
