Default Microphone Connecting problem

Hi,
I just bought a new ordinary simple Frontech mic and want to to use it. I have connected it in the right jack, that I am sure. I am not able to use the Mic at all. I believe there is no installation for microphone. I have checked into my Volume Control options but there is absolutely no option called Microphone.

Would really appreciate help
Thanks
~ CC

Have you connected in the green jack?If yes,
open volume control
options
properties
select recording
In the lower pane check Microphone box.
Press Ok.Now the recording control dialog box should appear.
Check the select box under mic volume bar.
raise the bar to max(you can change it later.
done
