Transcend RAM Users
Today I bought Transcend 512 DDR1.
On packing it was written JetRAm.
Soon I headed for online registration of product on www.transcendusa.com.
When I entered there all details, it responded as saying "no such part number".
Everst shows Ram as Trancend.
So, is my RAM a fake one, it costed me Rs 2675.
On Ram module I can see Samsung chips.
Anybody got similar problems.

why do you want to register your RAM, the RAM you've purchased is surely an original one. (but where did you get it from, it is priced very reasonably)

it happens many times that the ram is unable to register on the website , but your Ram is ORIGINAL... DONT WORRY..
this happened with me also

whats the model number of the RAM?
BTW I like your login name "int86". Must be a C lover like me 
And yes the chips should be of Transcend. There must be a hologram with Transcend/Jetram written plus a non removeable sticker with the proper model number.
Also download CPU-Z run it, go to the SPD tab, there you should see the manufacturer along with the RAM's Size, Bandwidth and timings. Would clear all your doubts.

May be u got Fake RAM
Bcoz i bought Transcend 512 DDR2 667MHz of 3200/- two month ago
and correctly registered to its Website.
And memory Chips are of Transcend not SAMSUNG.
Samsung chips are also good and fast.
But u was cheated by your reseller.
Complain to him.

So if Transcent use it's own chips than it is FAKE and if use SAMSUNG chips it's Original. See eveything have good era in life, so you can not say that SMASUNG ONLY IS BEST.
Others too can beat SAMSUNG if they keep Quality and Tech upto date and tested.

I got Hynix D43 Chips + Brain Power PCB
While my frend got Samsung UCCC + Brain Power PCB..

is it Hynix D43 Chips????

All original Trancend Ram modules use HYNIX IC's and are sealed in tetra packs.
Sourced modules use Samsung chips and are not tetra sealed.
And trancensd dosnt make its own chips
Can you tell us the 12 char. product code?

^^Wrong... I had a 1GB transcend stick with Micron 5BD ICs. I've seen transcend ddr1 with Samsung UCCC as well. If you got samsung be happy cos they overclock like crazy and are the most sought after chips . You'll easily do 3-4-4-8 250MHz.
