Question Problem with Microsoft Wireless Mouse on Laptop

Hi,

I have a HP Compaq nx6120 with Centrino Processor, 512 MB RAM and genuine Windows XP. Recently I got a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 700 and Wireless Mouse 700. When I plug in the reciever, the keyboard works fine, but the mouse doesn't work at all. The mouse's light glows, and in Control Panel > Mouse > Hardware the mouse name appears, but still the mouse doesn't work.

What should I do to make the mouse work?

Thanks, yeah I did that, but to no avail. Still the keyboard works sans the mouse, even though both are detected.
