Default Using 2 internal HDD's


Hello,

I wanted to know whether I can use 2 HDD's on my computer.
I currently have a maxtor 40gb drive.
My mobo is MSI MS 7057

Please help,

it is mentioned on this page that this board supports 4 IDE drives.

Yes you can easily. The IDE cable connected to you maxtor must be having two connectors, you can connect another HDD by making it primary slave with your maxtor as your primary master. To make it primary slave all you need is to remove the jumper(for segate for samsung settings r different). (In case you do not know what jumper is refer the following link.)

Once that is done you BIOS should automatically detect the HDD and you should see the drive in the explorer.

u should be able to plug in the additional hdd(with proper jumper settings)and use it.

If the drive is new and has not been used before than Windows Explorer may not recognise it until you start Disk Management and here Intialise\partition\format and ensure the drive has a Drive Letter.
