Default internal hard drive upgrade for laptop

Hi,

i have an ACER laptop with 60 GB hard drive and 512 MB RAM. The processor is intel centrino mobile 1.6 GHZ.

I want to replace my internal hard disk of 60 GB with 120 GB. Can this be done in ACER Laptops. I think iam having a 4200 rpm hard disk because it is very slow. can i replace it with 5400 rpm 120 gb internal dhard disk.

someone says that if the hard drive is upgraded, the form factor gets disturbed. furhter any other issues to be kept in mind.

if the same can be upgraded, then which is the best 5400rpm hard disk in india market.

regards

sachin

Default Re: internal hard drive upgrade for laptop

If you change ur hdd u have to reinstall the OS that will require reactivation of XP (assuming)

I just checked the market for the same & found
segate 5400 rpm 120 gb is for 5800/-
segate 7200 rpm 120 gb is for 7400/-

Western digital are also available around the same price here in delhi.
