Question Laptop <40k?

Hi Guys,
My friend is interested in buying a new laptop with a decent configuration for <40,000 Rs. He wants a CD-rw DVD Combo, 80gb HDD, 1gb ram wid a min 2.4ghz clock speed. I want to know if a branded laptop is possible with these configurations under Rs 40,000. If yes, please tell me which one.
Thank You

HCL core2DUO.... or Zenith core2DUO with all the nine yards present........ buy ones with preloaded dos or linux saves money....... HCL is quite good i have used it personally and i can vouch for them........ donot know about zenith though....Even though that laptop will suck you will get good money out of it if you decide to let it go... 2nd hand as with recent config you will loose couple of grands 10K at most with all the prices dipping in laptop scenario will endup.... loosing 40K if you opted for bigger brandnames like HP or Sony........
--------------------------
i bought a sony viao laptop 98K core2duo on ganesh chaturthi 5 or 6 months back this sunday learnt that sony has launched a core2duo laptop at 58K.....
what do you have to say about that.........?????????

Yep man its killing me along with citbank and ICICI the monthly installments of both the cards are 8.6K and i hate that laptop so much that i seldom use it ..... Slow considering the speeds that desktop can provide.........

and whatmore its a 12inch screen laptop ultralight....... Was at a special price of 98K during festive season original pricing @1.28Lacs

it seems like a good move at that time .......... present time
Go figure!!!

Yeah Yeah Dell is good!!!!

you should check out one thing but whats its price in india!!! AFAIK lowest of the dells core2Duo is priced at 65K in India...... i may be wrong but i know only of the laptops available in malls and i donot recall any dell laptop of 43K...

and belive me when i say that i am obssessed with Laptops

and if you are able to find a dell laptop core2duo at 43K also try to google for information about the inspiron seris for which dell is being sued for supplying defective motherboards..... and try to get the model in that seris in this way you can also sue dell and get compensation too from them for selling their Defective laptop and ofcourse a free replcement of much better model i may add..... this way evetually you will end up with the laptop + some money too!!!!!!!

Nothing gets better then DELL

I stand corrected BUY DELL!!!

Peace
Raj
